LILO 21.6.1 install instructions

You have just installed Fermi Linux and need the new lilo because you know that your root partition is past 1024 cylinders.  You should install 
this version of lilo before you reboot.  If you do not you will not reboot and
will have to use a rescue cd/floppy to fix the lilo install.  So just before 
reboot you need to run the shell script below which will install lilo 21.6.1 in /boot,/sbin,/usr/man.

Note that this will make your RPM database entries for lilo to be wrong.
I will make this into a rpm in the future.

There is a bug in the "ls" command.  So always use "ls -l" during this
install.  If you do a "ls" and the screen goes black or seems stuck you can
ctrl-c to get out of it.

alt-f2					# gets you to a shell window
cd /mnt/source/contrib/lilo/		# go to new lilo install area
./upgrade.lilo.during.install.sh	# Install new lilo in /mnt/sysimage/


If you are booted off your normal root(not during the install) then you need to

cd <cdrom or nfs mount point>/contrib/lilo/cjslilo
./installlilo.sh  			# Install new lilo in /
